Sperg Button, go. Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil has at her roots several wells, notably the Well of Urd (Norn of past, or passing.) This is related to Mimirsbrunnr, Well of Mimir (memory) which is the seat of personhood. Oðinn has his two Ravens, Hugin and Muninn, which he dispatches daily. Memory of these two is held to be more precious. Oðinn and his attributes, as well as his connection to the tree, can be seen as powerful allegories and metaphors for personal development.

There are some who believe, think of the Platonists who believe in Forms and Ideals, that Yggdrasil is a ”phase” (Steed of Ygg, the Terrible One) of the Perfect Tree. There was also the Irminsul, whose morphology seems similar, which was hacked down by Charlemagne’s goons. A very symbolic action, when you think of how we drew our Self from the Tree, literally, our soul complex. When the Christians cut the tree the occult symbolism was circumcising the soul.
