I think Erishkegal was Inanna’s sister, in the descent of Inanna (Ishtar) to the underworld/inner-earth. There’s a book about it I did a shortish post about some time ago. I’d have liked to know more about her myself, as I suspect she is an aspect of Hel and represents a lost tradition of chthonic Goddesses suppressed by Greek and Heeb tradition. You see matching archetypes in Celtic religion, and in some stories Persephone becomes a phantom queen coequal to Hades. Anyway. Link next comment.
